Frequently Asked Questions
Hot flashes, night sweats, and brain fog are the most well-known symptoms of menopause, and more than half of women will experience at least one of these during their menopause transition. However, there are more than 30 additional symptoms. You can find some examples here.
Menopause is defined as 12 consecutive months without a period. This means that it can only be diagnosed after it has already happened.
Perimenopause refers to the years leading up to your final menstrual period (FMP), when hormone levels are changing. The average length of perimenopause is about 7-10 years. Many women experience symptoms during this time, which can sometimes be difficult to distinguish from those of other conditions. At your initial consultation we will discuss all of your symptoms, review your personal and family medical history, and discuss which diagnostic and screening tests might be needed to ensure that you receive the correct diagnosis and the safest and most effective treatment.
Yes! Menopause hormone therapy (MHT) or hormone replacement therapy (HRT) are excellent options for supporting your health in perimenopause and beyond, and I am happy to talk with you about how hormones might fit into your care plan. But if these therapies aren't right you, there are also many non-hormonal options for managing midlife symptoms!
Yes! GLP-1 medications such as Wegovy (semaglutide) and Zepbound (tirzepitide) offer many benefits for weight loss and metabolic health. However, they are safest and most effective when prescribed with ongoing attention to nutrition, exercise, and body composition. If you are curious about whether these medications might benefit you, I would love to meet with you!

Insurance companies dictate how much time can be spent with patients and how care is delivered, with the average medical visit lasting only 15-20 minutes. In a direct care model, we can take the time we need and work together in the way that’s best for you.
A credit card is required for booking, and payment is due on the day of service.
An itemized receipt is provided after each visit. Depending on your health insurance coverage, you may be able to submit this receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement.
